Sharon has spent the past 11 years assisting clients with diverse legal problems. She has shown a committment to working closely with her clients, making certain that all of their needs and concerns are addressed. While a "General Practitioner," Sharon has experience in representing diverse clients in a wide array of legal matters. Her priority is to obtain successful results for her clients. Primarily, Sharon is a litigator. She has experience in handling matters throughout all phases of litigation, beginning with the initial investigation and ending with, if necessary, the trial and appellate process. Sharon is also experienced in achieving cost-effective solutions to matters outside of the litigation process through mediation, arbitration, and other narrowly-tailored alternative dispute resolution ("ADR") proceedings.

Sharon has advised clients with regard to the formation of the appropriate business entity (i.e., partnership, corporation, limited liability partnership, limited liability corporation, or personal corporation), and is capable of providing all of the services necessary to assist clients with contract preparation and negotiation, updating corporate books and minutes and providing financial and business planning. She is retained counsel for many established local businesses including Bridges Cornell Heights, Ness Construction, LLC, Habitat of Ithaca, Penny's Cleaning Service, LLC, PKB Design, and Pellegrino Marine. Sharon represents clients in all areas of family law, including separations, divorces, and custody and child support disputes. She has assisted clients in negotiating equitable distributions, child custody, child support, as well as the numerous other issues that arise in these matters. She has also successfully litigated these matters on behalf of her clients.

Sharon has in-depth experience and knowledge in the area of adoptions and has advised and assisted clients throughout the adoption process. She has specialized in second parent and same-sex parent adoptions in response to the increasing need for these services in recent years.

Sharon represents individuals, businesses and lending institutions such as HSBC Bank, First Niagara Bank and Beneficial in residential and commercial real estate transactions. She is experienced in drafting and negotiating all legal papers necessary for such transactions and is also authorized to write title insurance policies for buyers and their lending institutions.

Sharon has represented employers, unions and employees in various labor and employment matters, including negotiating collective bargaining agreements (on behalf of unions and on behalf of employers), representing parties in grievance procedures, and litigating employment matter. She has represented both employers and employees involving claims of sexual harassment and race, age, gender, or disability discrimination through both the administrative and judicial processes. She has also assisted employers in the preparation and review of human resource policies and procedures, employee handbooks and employment agreements, and has represented employers and unions in connection with union organizing activities.
